Nikkor 85mm f\/1.4, full frame, resized for the web,<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/oldwww.redbacksweb.com\/photos\/v1\/DSC_1016web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"771\" height=\"516\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Same image, 100% crop of just the wheel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/oldwww.redbacksweb.com\/photos\/v1\/DSC_1016cropweb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1789\" height=\"2301\" \/><\/p>\n<p>80-400, this was parked across the road, maybe 12-15 meters away. I think these were using the lens at full extension, and they&#8217;re a little softer than I&#8217;d like due to camera shake.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/oldwww.redbacksweb.com\/photos\/v1\/DSC_1055.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"968\" height=\"648\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A crop of the wheel &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/oldwww.redbacksweb.com\/photos\/v1\/DSC_1050web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"626\" height=\"397\" \/><br \/>\nSadly, the owner returned and drove off before I was able to reshoot the first of these in a portrait orientation.<\/p>\n<p>I was using the 80-400 at full extension, and needed to bump the ISO in order to get a semi-acceptable shutter speed. Even with VR, the level of magnification was very high, and camera shake was very noticeable. Leigh had the Manfrotto, so that was not an option.<\/p>\n<p>Across the road, the building displayed some interesting architectural features &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/oldwww.redbacksweb.com\/photos\/v1\/DSC_1080web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"771\" height=\"516\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Which, upon closer examination, looked a bit like this &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/oldwww.redbacksweb.com\/photos\/v1\/DSC_1089web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"771\" height=\"516\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I find the dynamic range in this last image to be interesting: observe the smoke detector within the shaded areas, as well as the different shades of white in the features that comprise the foreground.<\/p>\n<p>Within the constraints outlined, I was very satisfied with the FT1 adapter on the V1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newtricks.net.au\/index.php\/2012\/02\/nikon-v1-ft1-f-mount-adapter\/\">Return to previous page<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a few images: this first one is of an AMG Benz, parked about 7 meters from where we were sitting.
